About these terms
These terms cover use of this website and the basis on which AM Roofing Services Ltd provides quotations and carries out work. Where a signed quotation or contract exists for a specific project, that document takes priority over these terms.
Using this website
Content on this website is provided for general information about our services. We take care to keep it accurate, but roofing specifications depend entirely on the individual property, so nothing here should be treated as advice for your roof until we have surveyed it.
The content, photographs, layout and code of this website belong to AM Roofing Services Ltd or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not copy or republish material for commercial purposes without written permission.
Quotations
Every quotation follows a survey and is issued in writing. Quotations are valid for the period stated on the document. Prices assume the conditions found at survey. If concealed defects are found once the covering is stripped, for example rotten rafters or a failed wall plate, we will stop, tell you, and issue a written variation before continuing. We do not carry out extra chargeable work without your agreement.
Access, scaffold and site conditions
You agree to give safe access to the property and to the roof for the duration of the work, including space for scaffold, materials and waste. Where scaffold is required it remains the property of the scaffold supplier and must not be used by anyone other than our operatives and other authorised trades.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quotation. Where a deposit or staged payments apply, these are stated in writing before work begins. Final payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Guarantee
Workmanship is covered by the guarantee stated in your quotation and confirmed in your completion pack. Covering materials carry the manufacturer warranty applicable to the products used. The guarantee does not cover storm damage beyond the design conditions of the roof, damage caused by others, alterations by third parties, failure to maintain gutters and outlets, or defects in parts of the property outside the scope of our work.
Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our business premises, you have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin work within that period and then cancel, we may charge for work already carried out and materials already ordered.
Liability
We hold £10m public liability and £10m employers liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was made.
Complaints and governing law
If something is not right, contact us on 01296 325155 or at Ash@amroofingservices.co.uk and we will investigate. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
