Roofing service

Fascias and Soffits across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire

Full roofline replacement in UPVC with correct ventilation, replacing rotten timber and failed boards.

Answer first. Roofline work is not just cosmetic. Rotten fascias let water behind the gutter and into the wall plate, and boarded over soffits without ventilation trap moisture in the roof space. AM Roofing Services Ltd strips old timber back, replaces defective rafter feet and wall plate where needed, then fits new fascias, soffits, bargeboards and cladding with ventilation built in.

What the job includes

  • Old timber stripped out, not capped over
  • Defective rafter feet and wall plate repaired before new boards go on
  • New fascias, soffits, bargeboards, cladding and dry verge systems
  • Continuous soffit ventilation to control roof space condensation
  • Guttering renewed at the same time to a correct fall
  • Colour matched to windows and doors, including woodgrain finishes

Questions about fascias and soffits

Can you fit new fascias over the old timber?

Capping over rotten timber hides the problem and traps moisture. We strip back to sound timber, repair what needs repairing, and fit new boards to a proper substrate.

How long does a full roofline replacement take?

A typical semi detached or detached home takes two to four days once scaffold is up, including guttering renewal.

Do fascias and soffits need ventilating?

Yes. Without continuous ventilation at eaves level, warm moist air condenses in the roof space and damages timbers and insulation. Ventilation is built into every roofline installation we carry out.
